Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk to Leave US Department of Government Efficiency

05:42 AM EDT, 05/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk is leaving the US government's Department of Government Efficiency.

Musk announced the move in a Thursday post on social media platform X, saying his "scheduled time as a special government employee" draws to an end but did not provide more details.

According to BBC News, the White House has started "offboarding" Musk as a special government employee on Wednesday night.
