03:59 PM EDT, 07/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) is in early-stage discussions with Nevada state officials about expanding its self-driving operations in the region, as per a spokesperson from the state's department of motor vehicles on Wednesday.

Director and other officials from the Autonomous Vehicle team of the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles joined in the discussions with Tesla members last week, according to the spokesperson.

The meeting held talks on the "process for establishing the AV program in Nevada".

No formal steps have been taken outside of the communication, DMV added.

Tesla did not respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
