05:38 AM EDT, 04/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) issued a Wednesday notice to the New York State Department of Labor for its plan to lay off 285 employees in Buffalo starting July 15.

The notice is a requirement under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, for employers to give a 60-day notice before planned job cuts.

Reuters said the layoffs are part of Tesla's plan to reduce its global workforce by 10%.
