Tesla Loses Effort to Dismiss California DMV Allegations Over Self-Driving Claims
Jun 11, 2024 4:22 AM

06:58 AM EDT, 06/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) has lost its effort to convince a judge to dismiss false-marketing allegations against it by a California regulator, multiple media outlets reported late Monday.

The California Department of Motor Vehicles has accused Tesla of overstating its vehicles' self-driving capabilities since 2022, the reports said. Judge Juliet Cox of the state's Office of Administrative Hearings rejected Tesla's bid to dismiss the case, the reports added.

The Department of Motor Vehicles told Reuters that its claims would be formally reviewed by the Office of Administrative Hearings on Sept. 9.
