Tesla plans free self-driving taxi service in California, report says

WASHINGTON, Feb 27 (Reuters) - Tesla Inc ( TSLA ) is

planning to launch a free self-driving taxi service in

California, the Washington Post reported on Thursday, citing

emails it had obtained.

The electric carmaker headed by Elon Musk sought a permit

from the California Public Utilities Commission in an

application filed late last year, the Post said, citing the

emails obtained through a public records request.
