10:39 AM EDT, 07/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) is recalling more than 1.8 million vehicles in the US due to an unlatched hood that could obstruct the driver's view and increase the risk of a crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The recall covers certain 2021-2024 Model 3, Model S, Model X and 2020-2024 Model Y vehicles, the regulator said.
"The hood latch assembly may fail to detect an unlatched hood condition after the hood has been opened," the NHTSA said.
The regulator said Tesla has released a free software update to fix the issue.
Tesla didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
