07:45 AM EST, 12/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) is recalling 694,304 vehicles in the US over a problem with the tire pressure monitoring system that may improperly inflate tires, increasing the risk of accidents, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Thursday.
The tire pressure monitoring system warning light may not blip between drive cycles, failing to notify the driver of low tire pressure, the NHTSA added in its notification.
The affected models include certain 2024 Cybertruck, 2017-2025 Model 3, and 2020-2025 Model Y vehicles, the notice said.
The EV manufacturer has rolled out an over-the-air software without any charges, the agency added.
Shares of Tesla were down more than 5% in recent Friday premarket activity.
