05:22 AM EST, 11/26/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) sees Indian customers recovering roughly one-third of the Model Y's 6-million-Indian-rupee ($67,220) price tag in fuel and maintenance savings over the next four to five years, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing a company executive.
Customers in that market can save about 2 million rupees while purchasing a Model Y in terms of maintenance and petrol costs, the news agency reported, citing Sharad Agarwal, the US electric vehicle maker's India general manager.
The company entered India in July and priced the Model Y approximately 70% higher than the cost of the car in the US due to high taxes, according to the report.
Tesla didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
