05:40 AM EDT, 07/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) signed a $4.3 billion deal with LG Energy Solution for the supply of energy storage system batteries, multiple media outlets reported Wednesday, citing unnamed sources.
A source told Reuters that LG Energy Solution will supply the lithium iron phosphate or LFP batteries from its factory in Michigan. The batteries manufactured at the South Korean company's US plant would not be used in vehicles, a source told Bloomberg Wednesday.
According to Reuters, LG Energy Solution announced a three-year, $4.3 billion contract to supply LFP batteries in a Wednesday filing but did not name its customer.
Tesla and LG Energy Solution did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comments.
