07:57 AM EDT, 05/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) plans to expand its Supercharger network and spend over $500 million on new charging stations this year, Chief Executive Elon Musk said on Friday.

"That's just on new sites and expansions, not counting operations costs, which are much higher," Musk said in a post on his social media platform X just days after saying he planned to slow investment in the charger network and the company laid off about 500 people who oversaw the Supercharger unit.
