07:44 AM EDT, 09/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) sold 83,192 electric vehicles made at its Shanghai factory in August, according to data from the China Passenger Car Association Tuesday.
The figure, which included exports and domestic sales, was 4% down from a year earlier, multiple media outlets reported.
Tesla's China-made EV sales have declined in seven of the first eight months of 2025, including an 8.4% drop in July, the reports said.
Meanwhile, Tesla's sales in Europe fell 40.2% in July compared with a year earlier, Reuters reported Tuesday. To boost demand, Tesla reduced the price of its long-range Model 3 rear-wheel drive by 3.7% in China this week and began deliveries of its new six-seater Model Y L, according to the Reuters report.
