Tesla's New Car Sales in Europe Fall 27.9% in May

06:30 AM EDT, 06/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla's (TSLA) new car sales in Europe dropped 27.9% in May from a year earlier, even as battery electric vehicle sales in the region jumped 27.2%, data from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association showed Wednesday.

Tesla's new car sales for the first five months this year saw a decline of 37.1% in the region, according to the ACEA.

In the European Union alone, the American EV maker's new car sales dropped 40.5% in May while the year-to-date figure fell 45.2%, although total battery EV sales in the EU increased 26.1% so far this year, ACEA data showed.
