09:00 AM EDT, 10/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said Tuesday he has sued Johnson & Johnson ( JNJ ) and Kenvue ( KVUE ) for allegedly using deception in marketing Tylenol to pregnant women "despite knowing that early exposure to acetaminophen, Tylenol's only active ingredient, leads to significantly increased risk of autism and other disorders."
The American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists on Sept. 22 refuted claims from the Trump administration linking Tylenol use in pregnancy to autism.
"Suggestions that acetaminophen use in pregnancy causes autism are not only highly concerning to clinicians but also irresponsible when considering the harmful and confusing message they sent to pregnant patients, including those who may need to rely on this beneficial medicine during pregnancy," ACOG President Steven Fleischman said.
Kenvue ( KVUE ) and Johnson & Johnson ( JNJ ) did not immediately reply to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
