11:51 AM EDT, 10/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Textron Aviation Defense, a unit of Textron ( TXT ) , said Tuesday it will assemble the Beechcraft M-346N jet trainer at its Wichita, Kansas, facility if it is awarded the US Navy's Undergraduate Jet Training System, or UJTS, contract.

The company said it will invest more than $38 million to modernize the 50,000-square-foot facility, adding that the contract will create 100 direct manufacturing jobs and additional indirect jobs supporting aircraft production.

Textron ( TXT ) said it expects the Navy to announce the UJTS contract award in January 2027.
