03:09 PM EDT, 09/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Textron ( TXT ) said Tuesday that about 5,000 workers at its facilities in Wichita, Kansas went on strike after the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers rejected a proposed four-year contract on Saturday.
The strike affects manufacturing, parts, distribution, and service center operations, Textron ( TXT ) said, adding that it is not confirmed when employees will return to work or when negotiations will conclude.
Textron ( TXT ) said the strike could potentially impact production, deliveries, as well as have "an adverse effect" on the company's financial results.
The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers could not be reached immediately for comment.
