01:49 PM EDT, 03/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- iBio's (IBIO) shares were up 211% amid heavy trading Wednesday, a day after the company said it signed a securities purchase agreement for a private investment in public equity financing with expected gross proceeds of roughly $15 million.
The company plans to use the proceeds to support new partnerships and on Wednesday entered a partnership with AstralBio.
More than 136 million shares traded intraday compared with a daily average of about 99,000.
Lixte Biotechnology ( LIXT ) shares surged after the company published pre-clinical data showing its lead clinical compound LB-100 can "force cancer cells to give up their cancer-causing properties."
Shares soared 48% as intraday trading volume shot to more than 28 million from a daily average of about 39,000.
Cintas ( CTAS ) , on Wednesday, reported stronger-than-expected fiscal Q3 results and boosted its full-year outlook.
Shares advanced 8% as intraday trading volume rose to more than 644,000 versus the stock's daily average of about 322,000.
