01:07 PM EST, 12/31/2024 (MT Newswires) -- SiriusPoint ( SPNT ) will repurchase all of its shares and warrants now held by CM Bermuda through a pair of transactions with a combined value of $733 million. The insurance and reinsurance carrier made the initial $250 million as the deal closed, with the remaining $483 million due by Feb. 28.

SiriusPoint ( SPNT ) shares were nearly 15% higher, earlier climbing almost 16% to touch a new 52-week high of $16.42 a share. Volume has been stronger than usual, with over 608,000 shares exchanged midway through Tuesday trading compared with an average of about 566,000 shares for an entire session.

Acadia Pharmaceuticals ( ACAD ) will be added to the S&P SmallCap 600 index with the start of trading on Jan. 3, replacing Independent Bank ( IBTX ) , which is being acquired by SouthState ( SSB ) , S&P Dow Jones Indices said late Monday.

Acadia shares were nearly 11% higher, after recently topping out with a nearly 13% gain. Traders have swapped more than 2.5 million shares compared with a daily average of about 1.5 million shares.

Brera Holdings ( BREA ) said Tuesday it acquired a 22% stake in Italian Serie B football club SS Juve Stabia from majority owner XX Settembre and will increase its stake to 52% by March 2025, subject to agreement terms.

Brera ( BREA ) shares were 5% higher in recent trading. Volume already has reached nearly 5.8 million shares compared with a daily average of around 1.4 million shares.
