01:40 PM EDT, 05/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- KindlyMD (KDLY) said Monday it entered into a definitive merger agreement with Nakamoto Holdings to start a Bitcoin treasury strategy.

The company said the combined entity will seek to accumulate Bitcoin and grow the amount of the cryptocurrency owned per share.

Shares of KindlyMD more than quadrupled as intraday trading volume soared to over 54.9 million from a daily average of about 1.35 million.

Gryphon Digital Mining ( GRYP ) shares soared 241% amid heavy trading after the company said Monday that its majority-owned American Bitcoin unit signed a definitive merger agreement to go public with Gryphon.

More than 236.1 million shares traded intraday compared with a daily average of about 976,000.

NRG Energy ( NRG ) agreed to acquire CPower and a portfolio of natural gas generation facilities from LS Power Equity Advisors.

The company also reported higher Q1 adjusted earnings and revenue from a year earlier.

Shares advanced 25%, with intraday trading volume at over 6.1 million versus a daily average of roughly 3.1 million.
