Top Midday Stories: Lilly Becomes First Pharma Company to Hit $1 Trillion Market Cap; Enviri to Sell Clean Earth to Veolia for $3.04 Billion

11:49 AM EST, 11/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The major US stock indexes were up in late-morning trading Friday as investors remained concerned over artificial-intelligence company stock valuations.

In company news, Eli Lilly ( LLY ) shares rose as much as 1.7% on Friday to $1,061.17, touching a market capitalization of $1 trillion. In so doing, Eli Lilly ( LLY ) became the first pharmaceutical company to achieve the milestone, joining a small group of companies that includes eight technology giants, the Financial Times reported. Eli Lilly ( LLY ) shares were up 1.2% around midday.

Enviri ( NVRI ) said Friday it has agreed to sell its Clean Earth unit to Veolia Environnement for $3.04 billion in cash. The deal is expected to close in the middle of 2026, subject to Enviri ( NVRI ) shareholder approval. Enviri ( NVRI ) shares were up past 28%.

Intuit (INTU) reported fiscal Q1 adjusted earnings late Thursday of $3.34 per diluted share, up from $2.50 a year earlier and above the FactSet consensus analyst estimate of $3.09. Fiscal Q1 revenue was $3.89 billion, up from $3.28 billion a year ago and above the FactSet consensus of $3.76 billion. For fiscal Q2, Intuit said it expects adjusted EPS of $3.63 to $3.68, below the FactSet consensus of $3.85. The company also said it expects revenue growth of 14% to 15% for the quarter. Intuit shares were up 4.8%.

BJ's Wholesale Club (BJ) reported fiscal Q3 adjusted earnings Friday of $1.16 per diluted share, down from $1.18 a year earlier but above the FactSet consensus of $1.09. Fiscal Q3 revenue was $5.35 billion, up from $5.10 billion a year ago and above the FactSet consensus of $5.34 billion. For fiscal 2025, the company said it expects adjusted EPS of $4.30 to $4.40, up from its previous guidance of $4.20 to $4.35. Analysts polled by FactSet expect $4.31. BJ's also said it will open new locations in Mesquite, Texas, and Foley, Alabama. Shares of BJ's were down 0.6%.

Veeva Systems ( VEEV ) reported fiscal Q3 non-GAAP earnings late Thursday of $2.04 per diluted share, up from $1.75 a year earlier and above the FactSet consensus of $1.95. Fiscal Q3 revenue was $811.2 million, up from $699.2 million a year ago and above the FactSet consensus of $792.8 million. For fiscal Q4, the company said it expects non-GAAP EPS of $1.92 on revenue of $807 million to $810 million. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect $1.90 and $800.7 million, respectively. For fiscal year 2026, Veeva ( VEEV ) said it expects non-GAAP EPS of $7.93 on revenue of $3.166 billion to $3.169 billion. Previously, it guided for non-GAAP EPS of $7.78 on revenue of $3.13 billion to $3.14 billion. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect non-GAAP EPS of $7.81 and revenue of $3.14 billion. Veeva ( VEEV ) shares were down 8.8%.
