Jefferies Financial ( JEF ) stock was up 8% following a Financial Times report that Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG) is considering acquiring the US-based investment bank.

Sol-Gel Technologies ( SLGL ) shares were 7% higher, a day after the company said it has priced an oversubscribed underwritten offering of ordinary shares for gross proceeds of about $33.1 million.

Acurx Pharmaceuticals ( ACXP ) stock was up 6%, reversing from Monday's slide.
