10:03 AM EDT, 06/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- TotalEnergies (TTE) said Tuesday it was awarded a 25-year offshore wind concession in the North Sea by Germany's Federal Network Agency.
The N-9.4 concession, which covers around 141 square kilometers, will support the development of one gigawatt of offshore wind capacity, the company said, adding that the concession is extendable to 35 years.
TotalEnergies said that Offshore Wind One will pay 18 million euros ($20.8 million) to the German federal government next year for marine conservation and to promote environmentally-friendly fishing practices.
The French energy giant said it will pay 8.1 million euros annually for 20 years to the electricity transmission system operator responsible for connecting the project, beginning from the site's commissioning.
TotalEnergies is a shareholder of North Sea Offshore Wind One.
TotalEnergies shares were up 2.1% in early Tuesday trading.
