Toyota Motor Reports Decline in October Global Production
Nov 29, 2024 4:17 AM

06:52 AM EST, 11/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Toyota Motor ( TM ) late Thursday reported a 0.8% year-over-year decline in production for October, with production dropping to 893,164 vehicles.

Toyota Motor's ( TM ) output in the US fell 12.8%, and output in North America fell by 7.2% year over year, due to a four-month suspension caused by recall of the TX and Grand Highlander models, the company said.

Toyota ( TM ) said production in China dropped 8.7% as the "market conditions remaining severe from factors such as intensifying price competition." Production in Japan rose 8.3%, recovering from production disruptions the previous year.

Despite the decline in the production, Toyota ( TM ) reported a 1.4% increase in global sales in October, reaching 903,103 vehicles.
