10:38 AM EDT, 03/31/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Toyota Motor ( TM ) will continue running operations as it has been and focus on reducing fixed costs, without raising vehicle prices in response to US President Donald Trump's tariffs, media outlets reported Monday, citing the company's statement to Japanese media.
The reports said that the automaker does not plan to increase prices for vehicles sold in the US for the time being, despite the 25% tariffs on global auto imports starting April 3.
"While closely monitoring developments from US authorities, including tariffs, we'll continue to work on reducing fixed costs and maintain our current operations for the time being," a Toyota ( TM ) spokesperson was quoted as saying.
Toyota Motor ( TM ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
Toyota ( TM ) shares were down 1.6% in recent trading.
