08:05 AM EDT, 05/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Toyota Motor ( TM ) said Friday that its European division plans to start producing the Toyota GR Corolla at its UK manufacturing facility from 2026.

The company said that Toyota Gazoo Racing has become the fastest-growing brand in its portfolio and the demand for Gazoo Racing products has "consistently outstripped supply", leading to an expansion of vehicle production.

Toyota ( TM ) said it started preparations in 2024 when the UK team and key suppliers were first informed about the project.

Shares of the Japanese automaker were 2.6% higher in recent premarket activity.
