06:28 AM EDT, 10/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Toyota Motor ( TM ) on Wednesday reported its September worldwide production fell 8.5% year-on-year to 949,583 vehicles, including Daihatsu and Hino.
Production in the US fell 14% due to a product suspension of the Grand Highlander and Lexus TX, Toyota ( TM ) said.
Toyota's ( TM ) China production suffered a 19% loss, the automaker said, citing heightened price competition in the country.
Global sales were down 8% in September, including Daihatsu and Hino, Toyota ( TM ) said. Sales plunged 20% and 9.2% in the US and China, respectively.
Meanwhile, domestic sales dropped by 6.3% alongside an 11% drop in production due to the impacts of Typhoon No. 10, which hit Japan at the end of August, Toyota ( TM ) said.
