Nov 21, 2024 6:47 PM

02:48 PM EST, 11/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Toyota Motor ( TM ) said Thursday it is recalling about 8,000 Corolla vehicles in the US produced between July and September last year due to a potential safety issue with the steering shaft.

A part of the shaft that allows the steering wheel to control the direction of the front wheels may have cracks that could worsen and result in a loss of steering, the company said.

Toyota ( TM ) said steering shaft replacements will be provided free of charge. The company will notified customers by late January 2025.
