07:54 AM EDT, 08/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Toyota Motor ( TM ) is halting production at all of its Japanese factories because of an approaching typhoon, news outlets reported Wednesday, citing the company.

"From today's number-two (afternoon) shift through tomorrow's number-one (daytime) shift, we will suspend all the production lines at domestic factories," Agence France Press quoted a company spokesperson as saying.

Typhoon Shanshan is approaching Japan's south, bringing winds of up to 157 miles per hour and heavy rain, according to reports.
