Trade Desk Shares Dip After CEO Cites Tariff Uncertainty Impacting Large Advertisers in Earnings Conference Call
Aug 8, 2025 6:47 AM

09:18 AM EDT, 08/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Trade Desk ( TTD ) shares fell 34% in recent Friday premarket activity after its chief executive, Jeff Green, noted in an earnings conference call late Thursday its results are affected by ongoing tariff uncertainty on its key clients -- large global advertisers.

Trade Desk's ( TTD ) focus on major brands is normally considered a strength, but in the current economic and policy-releated environment, these clients are currently being hit harder than smaller businesses, he said.

Unlike competitors who rely more on small and mid-sized advertisers, Trade Desk's ( TTD ) exposure to global brands makes it more sensitive to macroeconomic shifts, Green said. But he added he remains optimistic, as "in volatile environments, these things have historically accelerated the move to programmatic, because it comes with control, agility and performance."
