08:20 AM EDT, 06/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Transocean ( RIG ) said Wednesday it has extended the contract with an independent operator for its Deepwater Asgard drill ship in the Gulf of Mexico by another year.

The offshore contract drilling services provider said the extension will begin immediately after the current program ends and is expected to add about $188 million to the company's backlog, including additional services.
