Travel portals warn mandatory RT-PCR tests will hurt air travel

Air travel continued to increase in November but mandatory RT-PCR tests may put a damper going forward.

CNBC-TV18 spoke to EaseMyTrip and they said that 70 percent of booking are still taking place for the next 3 days of travel. Delhi-Mumbai, Kolkata-Bengaluru, Goa-Mumbai are some of the busiest routes so far, but they do expect an impact on the bookings of these routes in days to come because of these regulations.

So while there has been a gradual rise in the domestic air passenger traffic, mandatory RT-PCR tests may impact the bookings in the near term.
