Troilus Gold Says Federal Leaders Support Streamlined Permitting Process for Mining Projects
Apr 8, 2025 6:20 AM

08:53 AM EDT, 04/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Troilus Gold ( CHXMF ) said Tuesday that Canadian federal leaders are supporting measures to streamline permitting of mining projects ahead of the April election, potentially benefitting the company's Troilus copper-gold project.

The company said the Liberal Party of Canada has endorsed a "one project, one review" permitting system, while the Conservative Party of Canada identified the Troilus project as one of 10 key natural resource developments of interest.

"The growing dialogue at the federal level, on both sides of the floor, around streamlining permitting for major projects is an encouraging development for Canada's resource sector," CEO Justin Reid said. "We're pleased to see Troilus is recognized among the country's most strategic developments."

Reid said the Troilus project can potentially support Canada's national critical mineral priorities while generating long-term value and meaningful fiscal contributions.

The company said it remains committed to advancing the project as it expects the final submission of an environmental and social impact assessment in the second quarter.

Troilus' share price closed 2.4% lower on Monday to $0.41 on the TSX.
