10:23 AM EDT, 06/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tronox Holdings ( TROX ) said Thursday it has signed a long-term power purchase deal with NOA Group for about 497GWh of

total contracted energy for its mines and smelters in South Africa.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2027 and would reduce its global Scope 1 & 2 greenhouse gas emissions by an incremental 12% with the 200MW wind and solar power purchase agreement, Tronox ( TROX ) said.

The agreement is in addition to the 200MW solar power agreement in 2022 with SOLA Group, which has been fully implemented as of April 2024 and is currently providing power to Tronox's ( TROX ) operations, the company said.
