06:29 AM EDT, 03/11/2026 (MT Newswires) -- President Donald Trump said Tuesday in a social media post that the US will get its first new oil refinery in 50 years with an investment from India's Reliance Industries.

The Brownsville, Texas, facility is part of a $300 billion deal, which Trump described on Truth Social as "THE BIGGEST IN U.S. HISTORY."

Trump said his government facilitated the deal by fast-tracking environmental permits and lowering taxes.

The new partially foreign-owned refinery will strengthen US national security, Trump said.
