07:51 AM EDT, 07/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- President Donald Trump will impose higher tariffs on non-compliant trade partners starting August 1 instead of Wednesday, multiple news outlets reported Monday, citing US officials.
Countries now reportedly have until the end of July to finalize deals with Washington or face elevated tariffs that were originally planned to take effect this week.
Trump said Sunday that several new trade agreements are nearing completion and that notices for increased rates will still be sent by Wednesday, the news outlets reported.
The tariff levels will revert to those announced on April 2, known as Liberation Day, if no deals are reached, the media outlets added.
