Trump Media & Technology Group Shares Soar Pre-Bell After Shooting at Trump Rally in Pennsylvania
Jul 15, 2024 4:32 AM

06:38 AM EDT, 07/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Trump Media & Technology ( DJT ) shares soared up 51% in recent Monday premarket activity, following the weekend after US presidential candidate Donald Trump survived an attempted assassination during one of his campaign rallies in Pennsylvania.

Several shots were fired at where Trump was speaking during the rally on Saturday, leaving one audience member dead and two others critically injured. Trump's ear was grazed before he was taken off the stage.

The FBI on Sunday identified the gunman, who was shot by Secret Service right after the assassination attempt, as 20-year old Thomas Matthew Crooks. Investigators said the motive is so far unknown.

In a Saturday statement, TMTG Chief Executive Officer Devin Nunes offered sympathies to the families of the victims from the audience. "The situation demands a fast, thorough federal investigation to determine all the circumstances of this cowardly attack and to identify if any additional persons were involved," Nunes said.

"I also call for the federal government to provide any security resources requested by President Trump to guarantee his safety."
