Sept 10 (Reuters) - Two people died in a fire at an oil
pipeline in Russia's Orenburg region, 1,500 km (930 miles)
southeast of Moscow, the regional prosecutor's office said on
Tuesday.
An investigation is under way into the cause of the fire at
the Garshinskoye oilfield is underway, it said.
Interfax news agency, citing local emergency services, said
the pipeline belongs to the NNK-Orenburgneftegaz company. It
quoted local authorities as saying the fire at the pipeline had
been extinguished.
The Investigative Committee said a criminal case had been
opened into suspected violation of industrial safety
requirements which resulted in deaths.
