Uber Forms Partnership With BYD to Bring 100,000 BYD Electric Vehicles Onto Global Platform

07:41 AM EDT, 07/31/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Uber Technologies ( UBER ) and Chinese automaker BYD said Wednesday they have formed a strategic partnership to bring 100,000 BYD electric vehicles onto the Uber ( UBER ) platform in key global markets.

The multi-year partnership will begin in Europe and Latin America and will then expand to include markets in the Middle East, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, the companies said.

The collaboration is expected to offer drivers access to favorable pricing and financing, as well as discounts on charging, vehicle maintenance, insurance and lease offers, the companies said.

Uber ( UBER ) and BYD said they will also collaborate on future BYD autonomous-capable vehicles to be deployed on the Uber ( UBER ) platform.
