Uber, Lyft Reportedly Delay Pullout From Minneapolis After City Council Pushes Back Minimum Wage Rule
Apr 12, 2024 5:25 AM

08:02 AM EDT, 04/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Uber ( UBER ) and Lyft ( LYFT ) said Thursday they have delayed a move to withdraw from Minneapolis after the city council pushed back the implementation of a minimum wage for ride-sharing drivers, media outlets reported.

The city council unanimously voted Wednesday to push back the date for the implementation of the rule to pay drivers $15.57 an hour to July 1 from May 1.

The city council voted to establish the minimum wage in March, prompting the ride-sharing companies to announce that they would pull out of the city.

Uber ( UBER ) and Lyft ( LYFT ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
