03:17 AM EDT, 08/13/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Uber Technologies ( UBER ) has selected Hinomaru Kotsu to manage depot and fleet operations for its planned robotaxi pilot in Tokyo, the company said Thursday.

Under the collaboration, the Japanese taxi operator will handle vehicle cleaning, maintenance, inspections, charging and other operational tasks for the autonomous fleet, Uber ( UBER ) said.

The service is expected to launch in late 2026.
