05:02 PM EDT, 08/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Uber Technologies ( UBER ) and General Motors' ( GM ) Cruise said late Thursday that they agreed to a multiyear partnership to bring Cruise's autonomous vehicles to the ride-hailing platform.
The partnership will be launched next year with a dedicated number of Chevy Bolt-based autonomous vehicles, the companies said.
Uber ( UBER ) customers will get an option to select a Cruise autonomous vehicle for their trip following the launch, the companies added.
Financial details weren't disclosed.
Shares of Uber ( UBER ) were down nearly 3% in recent after-hours activity, while General Motors ( GM ) rose 1.6%.
