Uber Technologies Terminates Deal to Acquire Delivery Hero's Foodpanda Business in Taiwan

05:54 AM EDT, 03/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Uber Technologies ( UBER ) has terminated the deal for its acquisition of Delivery Hero's foodpanda business in Taiwan following issues related to regulatory approvals, Delivery Hero said Tuesday.

Local authorities, including the Taiwan Fair Trade Commission, did not approve the acquisition and the appeal period for the decision has lapsed, according to Delivery Hero.

Under the May 2024 deal, Uber ( UBER ) is required to pay a termination fee and Delivery Hero estimates this fee at about $250 million.

Uber Technologies ( UBER ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
