Uber's Ski Service Launches Across Europe: Details
Feb 18, 2025 10:15 AM

Shares of ride-hailing services provider Uber Technologies Inc. ( UBER ) are trading higher on Tuesday.

Uber has launched Uber Ski service across Europe to simplify travel and provide a cost-effective way for Belgian skiers heading to Europe’s premier alpine resorts.

Operating in seven European countries, Uber Ski enables travelers to easily book rides from key transport hubs in Belgium, such as airports and train stations, directly to their ski destinations.

“Rather than driving long distances by car, Uber Ski offers a convenient alternative for Belgian skiers heading to their ski resort. They can take public transport, especially trains, before seamlessly continuing their journey with Uber from the station to their ski resort,” said General Manager Uber Belgium, Laurent Slits.

“Belgians are increasingly looking for flexible and convenient mobility solutions, and Uber Ski is the perfect way to complement their winter travel plans.”

Fares are fixed at a starting price of 49 euros ($51.2) for up to five passengers. Uber Ski is now available in France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Poland, Spain, and Sweden.

From the French Alps to the Swiss peaks, Uber Ski provides direct transfers from key airports and train stations to over 90 ski resorts.

Uber Ski enhances the ski trip experience by offering convenient rides with ski and snowboard racks. Travelers can book a ride with the option to secure transportation up to 60 days ahead of time.

The service launch follows a growing demand from international tourists flocking to winter destinations.

Winter 2024 data shows that international traveler demand at locations like Val Thorens and Courchevel in France, Söll in Germany, Kitzbühel in Austria and Gstaad in Switzerland has more than doubled.

Price Action: UBER shares are trading higher by 2.17% at $81.14 at the last check Tuesday.
