02:13 PM EDT, 10/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- In its third quarter preview for Rogers, UBS expects the telco to report lower volumes but higher profitability in both wireless and cable segments. UBS believes competition remains intense in wireless but not worse than a year ago while broadband competition is more sporadic, depending on the region.
In wireless, UBS is looking for 95K postpaid phone adds (prior UBSe 195K; Q3 2023 225K), driven by lower gross adds, while churn remains relatively flat at 1.1%. Prepaid adds should improve to +80K vs. +36K last year given increased activity in the low-end.
In cable, UBS is looking for 28K broadband adds and 28K video losses.
Consolidated revenues to grow 1.5%, while media revenue is expected to grow 10%, driven by improvement in advertising.
