UBS slams "extreme" increase in capital requirements proposed by Swiss gov't
Jun 6, 2025 8:52 AM

June 6 (Reuters) - UBS said on Friday it

strongly disagrees with the increase in capital requirements

proposed by the Swiss government for the country's biggest bank.

The bank said the proposed increased was "extreme" and would

result in capital requirements that are "neither proportionate

nor internationally aligned," it said in a statement.

UBS estimated it would have to hold an additional $24

billion in core capital as a result of the proposals.
