08:45 AM EDT, 08/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The UK Competition and Markets Authority said Thursday that Banco Santander (SAN) breached regulations requiring that accurate and up-to-date information is continuously available through Open Banking Application Programing Interfaces.
The agency said that Santander failed to keep some information up to date and to publish some information at all, affecting 106 data fields.
Santander self-reported the breaches and has taken steps to prevent a recurrence, including improving data presentation, updating processes, and enhancing accuracy controls, the agency said.
The CMA added that it would not pursue additional enforcement actions now but would closely monitor Santander's future compliance.
Banco Santander did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
