UK steps closer to single trading feed in bid to revitalise market
Jul 31, 2026 3:20 AM

LONDON, July 31 (Reuters) - Britain's markets regulator the

Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) published detailed proposals

for a single feed for UK trading data on Friday, in an effort to

help reinvigorate the market and improve transparency.

The FCA said it had refined its proposals and was seeking

market feedback, ahead of finalising the rules in early 2027.

The aim of the so-called "consolidated tape" is to combine

real-time data from multiple trading venues into a single feed

to give investors a more complete view and to counter

perceptions the UK market lacks liquidity. The European Union is

planning to launch its own consolidated tape in September, while

the U.S. has operated one for decades.
