May 12 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 index is
seen opening higher on Monday, with futures up 0.28%.
* ALPHAWAVE: Alphawave IP Group ( AWEVF ) said the UK
takeover panel had extended the deadline for a takeover offer by
Qualcomm ( QCOM ) to May 27.
* IG GROUP ( IGGRF ): IG Group ( IGGRF ) said its annual results
would meet or slightly exceed the upper end of the market's
consensus range, as market volatility due to U.S. tariffs
spurred trading.
* COBALT HOLDINGS: Cobalt Holdings said it plans to
raise $230 million through a global offer and potentially list
its shares in the London Stock Exchange.
* NATWEST ( NWG ): Banco Santander has rejected an offer of
around 11 billion pounds ($14.63 billion) from NatWest ( NWG )
for its UK retail bank, the Financial Times reported on Friday.
* HIRING: Gloom surrounds British employers' hiring after
recent tax hikes and surging uncertainty in the global economy,
according a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development
survey.
* STANSTED AIRPORT: Stansted Airport was hit by IT problems
on Sunday that left passengers stuck and caused flight delays.
* OIL: Oil prices rose after both sides in U.S.-China trade
talks over the weekend touted their progress.
* GOLD: Gold prices slipped as U.S.-China trade talks ended
on a positive note.
* METALS: Prices of base metals rose on signs of progress in
U.S.-China trade talks.
