UK's CMA says Microsoft-Mistral AI tie-up does not call for probe
May 17, 2024 4:25 AM

May 17 (Reuters) - Britain's competition watchdog said

on Friday the partnership between Microsoft ( MSFT ) and Mistral

AI did not qualify for an investigation.

The announcement comes after the Competition and Markets

Authority (CMA) said in April it was seeking comments on the AI

partnerships between the firms, as well as between Amazon ( AMZN )

and Anthropic.

At the time, the regulator said it had not formed any

conclusions on whether the deals fell within UK merger rules or

raised competition concerns.
