UK's Spectris agrees to Advent's sweetened $6.4 billion takeover bid

Aug 1 (Reuters) - British scientific instruments maker

Spectris ( SEPJF ) has agreed to private equity firm Advent's

sweetened takeover bid valued at 4.8 billion pounds ($6.38

billion), including debt, the companies said on Friday.

Spectris' ( SEPJF ) board has decided to withdraw its support for

KKR's rival offer, it said.

($1 = 0.7528 pounds)
