UltraTech Cement Q1 profit falls 33% to Rs 598 crore

Aditya Birla Group firm, UltraTech Cement, on Wednesday reported standalone net profit of Rs 598 crore for the first quarter ended on June 30, 2018.

CNBC-TV18 poll had predicted a profit of Rs 604 crore for Q1.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 891 crore in the April-June quarter a year ago, UltraTech Cement said in a BSE filing.

UltraTech's net sales were at Rs 8,655 crore during the quarter under review against Rs 6,626 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, after an uptick in the economic activity.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 4.1 percent to Rs 1,623.8 crore.
